Web Development Internship — JBADEV
Company presentation
Second-year BTS internship with Jean Baptiste Astier de Villatte (brand: JBADEV) — contemporary artist working across painting, sculpture, photography and installation.
My workspace
I worked from La Cantine Numérique, a coworking space in Quimper — a city in Bretagne, France. Professional desks, meeting rooms, and an on-site café-restaurant — a functional environment for the full rebuild project.
Final result — new website
The old site had 800+ products. I rebuilt everything from scratch on WordPress — new structure, modern design, responsive layout, and improved navigation.
Missions
1. WordPress, theme & plugins
Local development with Local WP, ShopisticLite theme, Elementor page builder, and a custom plugin to remove unused cart/login features.
2. Database backup & import (800+ products)

3. Performance optimisation
WP Rocket — caching, asset compression, and disabling non-essential scripts after client feedback on loading speed.

4. Going live on OVH
Deployed via OVH hosting. Project tracked on Trello; coordinated with another intern working on a related association site.

5. SEO optimisation
All in One SEO — meta tags, sitemap, keywords (jbadev, ceramics), friendly URLs and content structure.

6. Social media management
Instagram content for ceramics products, relevant hashtags, and a dedicated tab on the website for posts using #jbadev.
7. User documentation
Step-by-step guide so the client could manage WordPress, import products and create categories independently.
